Hey Peet,

I don't know that I've mentioned this to you yet, but Jenny has accepted a new position, and her last day is this Friday.

Would you be able to help with shutting things down for her on Friday at the end of the day?

She has also inquired about purchasing her computer. Would you be able to look her machine up and let me know if it's something we would want to keep? I suspect she was close in line to getting a replacement.

No problem at all. Closing down her account is straight forward as always. Just let me know who should have access to her email and if you'd like her account to have an auto-reply (and when to schedule it's shut off) or to have her email automatically bounce upon disabling.

As for the computer it will need to be wiped and since it's the older non t2 model it will require booting into the recovery mode, erasing the drive, and reinstalling. It's super easy, but not nearly as easy as the "Erase all contents and settings" that all macs with a finger print reader can do. I can wipe and reinstall it for you, I can walk you through it remotely, or you can ...

Hold CMD + R while booting
Open Disk Utility from the macOS utilities menu
Erase "SolidStateDrive"
Quit Disk Utility
Choose "Install macOS Ventura"
Follow the prompts to install macOS Ventura
Leave in the "Welcome to macOS" state for Jenny

The device itself is worth about $200. A better spec'd one is $220 on eBay right now, but really, it's not worth much and just passing it on to her isn't a bad idea..

Ideally it would be great to have Mari and Ryan (who is stepping away for sabbatical on Friday), to have shared inboxes. Perhaps if you just setup shared inboxes for Mari and Ryan while they are out, and maybe Jenny too now as opposed to an email forward? I would be the one managing all 3 of those (yay...)

What are our computer needs for next year? How many should I consider replacing if any, of the current ones you are managing?
