Good Morning Peet,

I am reaching out today because I have some questions about our TV and screen sharing. We are not able to screen share from our laptops to the TV. Do you know what we need to do to/anything we need to log in to in order to screen share?

I also have a question about a "welcome to your new mac" screen I have. I have attached a picture below. I have had this screen for some time now and it hasn't gone away. Do you know what I can do to get rid of it?

Thank you!
Emily

Emily,

Thanks for reaching out.

I'm not sure what the current expectation for displaying content from guest devices is. In the past MEP used a product called "ditto" to display guest laptops wirelessly on the conference display. I checked the goditto credentials for MEP and there is a current subscription to ditto .... https://start.1password.com/open/i?a=TWBJ6F7HOFH2FG7S7H4MG3H73U&v=sevlhphvoe3u3g4j7jcpb4hz5m&i=xoopgegiq73wx5qrgl3ytrmlxa&h=my.1password.com
However, it appears that ditto discontinued support for macOS as a receiver some years ago. The simplest solution going forward would be to purchase and deploy an AppleTV 4K, and deploy the ditto receiver application.

An AppleTV and mount would be $165.00 and it would take about 2 hours to install and configure for MEP.

Otherwise, I have a feeling that folks have previously run an HDMI cable directly from the back of the display.

Let me know if MEP would like to deploy an AppleTV or perhaps if you'd like to move to a direct HDMI connection. We could also look at other solutions like wireless HDMI, but path with the least friction for both setup and usability is the AppleTV/ditto combo.

Cheers.Peet
