Hi Peet,

I was finally able to get the other computer charged. I don’t know the serial number for this one and I can’t login, it won’t give me a window to login. It is on but just a blank background. I was wondering if you can see that it is online and see if we can make it another spare or if we should just go ahead and find a way to recycle it, etc. It is a MacBook air. Let me know, thank you!

I believe the device is C02XX0GKJK7M MacBook Air (Late 2018), but it doesn't look like it's reaching an online state for me to access remotely. Try another hard restart just incase. If it doesn't boot, I can pick it up for troubleshooting.

Cheers.Peet

Did a hard restart, connected it to MEP-Device, and logged in with the MEPAdmin info. Can you see it now?

I saw *something* a notification from splashtop that the device did ... I'm not sure what. could you download this and install it while logged in as the MEPAdmin user?

https://my.splashtop.com/team_deployment/download/JRKH4YY7TXPL

When it finishes installing, Splashtop Streamer will open and you'll have to accept Artichoke Consulting as the owner of the account.

Thanks.Peet

I almost have it downloaded, but I need an admin login and MEPAdmin is not an admin on this computer.

You should be able to use /Applications/Privilages.app to make yourself an admin, if not, please call 406.880.8810 and we'll see what we can do.

It says that the Administrator has restricted the use of the app on the macbook air and it won’t let me open it. I can call you in just a bit!

I ended up getting connected and made it through most of the updates, but I've lost access to the computer after starting an upgrade from macOS 13 to macOS 14. Can you check what its status is?

Thanks

Hi Peet,

I haven’t been in the office but I will be within an hour or two and I will get it turned back on for you.

Hi Peet, it seems the computer was doing some updating. Everytime the screen turned on, it was the black screen with the Apple Logo and a bar measuring progress. I will check it again Tuesday!

Hi Peet!

It is currently turning on and seemingly doing some more updating? It is plugged in and I will be able to monitor it all day to help you check it out.

I think it very likely may be stuck. It's not been disconnected from the display during this update, correct? The battery reported that it was not being charged by the display, but that's often a matter of plugging/unplugging the usb-c. But if the power went out, it would be possible for the computer to have turned off ... Did you have to turn it back on at any point, by hitting the power button, or have you just had to wake it to check on it?

Thanks.Peet

Fantastic. Do you think you could plug in a usb-c power adapter as well as the display to the computer so it can charge?

Thanks.Peet

I plugged it into Nicole’s display as she currently is not in the office. Let me know if that works.
