Hi Peet,

Boston is out for two weeks (shoulder surgery yesterday) and we had a power outage yesterday. This is no big deal, but the surge protector basically sounds an alarm when I turn it on. And I'm guessing the surge protector is somewhat important to Five Valleys.

This is a cry for help. I hope you have a moment to call me today and walk me through whatever I need to take care of. Yes, I'm clueless. Sorry about that! Best number to call is 406-210-1301.

Julie,

Sorry it's taken a bit to get back to you here. I checked that your network was up when I got the ticket, but it seems like your NAS is down, so scanning should not be working ... so at a minimum, your NAS is attached to the UPS that has failed.

The UPS can be bypassed with a surge protector. That is everything that is plugged into the UPS can be moved to a surge protector. Is there a surge protector available at FVLT or would you like me to bring one to FVLT?

Thanks for getting back to me. We are going into a meeting in 30 minutes. Can you and I have a phone call at 3:15? 406-210-1301 Or if you could come to the office today or tomorrow?

I think we have a surge protector (why wouldn't we?) but what I was looking at could also be a battery?

And if I knew what the UPS was, I'd have a better idea what the NAS was.

I know lots of things, computer systems are not one of them. Captain Obvious here.

I have since searched NAS and UPS. When I go to turn back on the battery (or surge protector, it simply sounds a constant alarm). I assume it's unhappy.

If you could please get what we most likely need and set it up that would be fabulous.
