Hi Peet. I need to make a plan to get a new laptop. Do you have preferences or suggestions? My last one was a MacBook Pro 15. I loved the machine. Not married to it though if you prefer something else. Also if you would rather this come through email just say so and I will jump over there.

I would recommend a 15" Macbook Air. They are currently M3 processors and will be upgraded to M4's should be released Q1 2025 and if you can wait, you'll have the next generation of processor in the device. If you can't wait, the MBA M3 is a fantastic computer and will be perfect for your needs.

MBA 15" M3 are currently $1300 for 16GB memory and 512GB storage.

Joe,

The M4 MacBook Airs were announced yesterday.

For your needs, the $1,100.00 13", 16GB memory, and 512GB storage, or the $1,300.00 15", 16GB memory and 512GB storage.

The limiting factor on either of these will be memory, but 16GB should serve general purpose computing without issue. On either model, you can increase the memory to 24GB for an extra $200 and 32GB for $380.

The colors are Sky Blue, Silver, Starlight, and Midnight (FYI, Midnight is a fingerprint magnet)
