#28817 Montana Property Tax Rebate Program--OPENS TODAY

Dear Montana Clients:

Just a quick note to remind you that the $675 property tax rebate application opened up today. It is for Montana properties that you owned and paid taxes on as your principal residence in 2023. The application is only open for a few weeks—all applications must be submitted by October 1st.

www.getmyrebate.mt.gov

Like last year, you will need some key pieces of information to fill out the request. Social security numbers for all property owners (and your dependents, if you have any), as well as the "Geo Code" for your property. I know that finding the Geo Code was painful for some folks last year. You might be able to find it on a property tax bill, or on your latest property re-appraisal from the State of MT (came out last summer). If you live in Missoula County, you can use the following website to look up your property (using your street address) and find your Geo Code online:

I filled out my application online this morning and noticed that I did NOT have to enter last year's property taxes paid (that was a requirement last time). It appears that they've streamlined the process at least a little bit.
