Hi Peet,

I should be going up to Susan's tomorrow to get the info you wanted re: wifi setup.

Update on our timeline. Looks like the owners have leased the office so we have just less than 2 weeks to get moved out. Questions:

1. Did the router come? If not yet, do you know when?
2. Should I shut down and start disassembling the old server?
3. Do you want any or all of the old server hardware? I can help get it hauled.
4. Can we get all this done by end of next week?

Thanks!
~jb

Sorry for the delay

1. Did the router come? If not yet, do you know when?
Yup and it's basically ready. Just let me know the SSID, password and subnet she's using, and I'll mirror it on the router.

2. Should I shut down and start disassembling the old server?
Definitely, maybe. I just ran through all the final bits on PAR-DC00 to make it the primary DC in all ways. Made sure the DC, and Synology were pulling time data correctly. And double checked the remote access. If PAR-HV02 is finished copying its the final death knell of the Hyper-V .vhdx's to the Synology. Go for it.
I've turned off all VM's and set the DHCP to only use the DC00 so ... it's basically over?

3. Do you want any or all of the old server hardware? I can help get it hauled.
Yessir, it will all likely end up getting recycled, BUT until I decommission my last on-site server, they could be useful as spares or parts.

4. Can we get all this done by end of next week?
Should not be an issue.

More information:

It appears after Leta spoke with the IT guy for the school that's moving into this office, they expressed interest in our old server. Can you wipe it and leave it in place so they can take it over?

Susan's Wifi:
SSID: MT_Home_Base
p: MT_Advenures_95

They currently do not have a guest wifi but would like one to use p: Montana_Fun_5631

I'll schedule a time that I (or you, if you think that's necessary) can take the new router up and connect it. Probably after tomorrow.

Thanks!

The router is built with the provided information. The Synology needs to be connected port1 to port1, and port2 to port2 on the Unifi router. The WiFi PWD for "PAR" is in 1Password.

If you'd like PAR-HV01 and PAR-HV02 wiped for use for a 3rd party, please boot them so I can start the multi-pass wipe on the data drives. TBH I'm not sure how long that will take but we'd better get it started. Am I good to start wiping DIGIBOX?

Who is the School? Professional/knowledgeable IT support will be required to spin these back up into a usable state.

10-4 on the port connections. Sorry, not clear on PWD for "PAR" WiFi. And the only 1Password we have is my personal ([email protected]).

I booted HV01 and HV02. Green light to wipe Digibox.

School is Clark Fork Preparatory School. I will leave that to them to spin these back up. I will make sure they have your contact info if you want to charge them for consultation.

Thanks!

Could you please remove the USB Drive from DigiBox? Should have also said are you good to wipe hv01 and hv02?

The SSID "PAR" will be broadcast from Unifi and allow for a direct connection to the 192.168.100.x PAR network.

Drive removed.

10-4 on the PAR WiFi. I suspected but wanted to make sure.

Green light to wipe ALL.

Thanks!

Dear god this is a pain. I'll have to reconfigure the RAID cards to present each hard drive as 1 drive array. Then boot from an external USB stick and start a full wipe.

How long will you be in the office?
