Peet, below is a list of the 29 password protected client documents whose “client-info sheets” are currently saved as the .doc style word document, rather than the .docx style. We are unable to open these accounts because we can't open the old .doc style on our computer anymore. Also, when I go and try to convert them to the updated .docx version via SharePoint (the way you had shown me) I'm not able to open them in the online version because they are password protected. We do use these documents fairly regularly, so any assistance is greatly appreciated. -Gage Bartels-Reese Account Info.doc RBCB Client Information Sheet Hard Copy Version_Rmt_Proj_Only.doc Stover Account Info.doc Dupuis Account Info.doc Fichtler Account Info.doc Geurts-Gardiner Account Info Update.doc Kipphut-Landry Account Info.doc Love Account Info.doc Lurie-Coffin Account Info.doc McLeod Caywood Account Info.doc Morrison Account Info.doc Mutch Account Info.doc Niccolucci Account Info.doc Partyka Client Info Sheet.doc Pearson Account Info.doc Petroni, CM Account Info.doc Mark Petroni Account Info.doc Pickhardt Account Info.doc Redfern Account Info.doc Robitaille Client Information Sheet.doc Stu Rose Client Information Sheet Hard Copy Version_Port_Analysis_only_SINGLE.doc Megan Keim Account Info.doc MSohlberg Account Info.doc St. Patricks Episcopal Church Info.doc Client Information Sheet Strevel-Dyer (OLD).doc Webster Account Info.doc BM Williams Client Info Sheet.doc Carol Williams Account Info.doc Zimmermann Account Info.doc Gage Legare, CFP®, CRPC® Stewart & Associates, PLLC 27 Fort Missoula Road, Suite 1 Missoula, MT 59804 Phone: (406) 541-3733 Fax: (406) 541-3734 Secure Upload: [https://stewartfinancial.leapfile.net](https://stewartfinancial.leapfile.net/) Sent from [Mail](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986) for Windows

Hi Peet, Jill wanted me to check in on the below issue and see if there have been any improvements. She also wanted me to let you know that we are ready for the computer recycling guys to come by any time. I tried one of the old .doc versions and it seems to work. Should we still go and convert all/most of these .doc files to .docx now? In case this is an issue in the future? Or should we be okay from here on out? Thanks again for fixing this issue, Gage --------------------------------------------------------------- From: Artichoke Support - Peet <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2024 9:28 AM To: Gage Legare <[email protected]> Subject: Old .doc Issue (message id: 78693140)

Super glad it's working! 100000% update the formats. Any .doc, .xls, and .ppt needs to be converted to modern formats. I removed a bit too much of the security baseline from your computers to achieve a fix for opening the old formats and I'll be looking again at what to apply back. I'm virtually positive that I can allow for read-only opening of the old formats so you can open and do a save as when you find any. I'll let you know when I'm looking to re-enable the baseline policies. Cheers.Peet

Sounds good, Peet. We have Missy going in and updating the most important .doc files to .docx now. So the ones that remain under the old format/version after today shouldn't be as big of an issue. Let us know when you think the computer recycling people will be coming by. We have plenty of stuff for them.
