Good morning Peet,

I am not getting the code sent to my phone and my Authenticator app is not working.

Gina,

From what I can see on your account, you've configured your Microsoft Authenticator App to only work as a code-generator and not via push notification. I did see an odd issue with the format of your phone number for SMS. It's possible that any SMS issues came from that. I used an SMS that I control on your account without issue and have reset yours to +1 4065916408. It should be working as a second factor.

Could you describe to me a bit more what you mean by "my Authenticator app is not working"? Microsoft authenticator is bound to specific devices, so if you delete and add it back, that will break any accounts setup inside it. If you get a new phone and don't set it up before deleting your old phone, that will break any Microsoft 365 accounts. I've not seen any other situation where the MS Authenticator app stops working. In what way does your MS Authenticator not work?

Regardless, I would very much recommend removing and re-registering your MS Authenticator at https://ms.aka/mfasetup. I'm unsure how your MS Authenticator app was set to code generation only, but new MS Authenticators setup on your account should default to push notification which is more convenient and more secure.

Cheers.Peet

That's great to hear. To be clear Push Notifications to your Microsoft Authenticator app on your iPhone are working now. That is, when you log in and are required to provide MFA, you see a two digit code where you're logging in and then provide that code to your Microsoft Authenticator on your phone?

Thanks.Peet
