Morning, Peet. I’m going to need some help with Sherie’s computer sometime today. I think I f’d it up. I logged into it last week and accidentally hit the power button for her OLD computer (which is still sitting on her desk) rather than the new one—then I think I turned on the new one at the same time. Then I decided I was going to wait until Monday to do payroll… fast forward to today---I booted up her computer, it said it needed a reboot to finish installing some Dell system updates, when it came back up it had the BitLocker screen up wanting a key. No idea how/what that is. Help, please! Don’t know if it is possible, but would love to have you come help us get the old unit off her desk so it doesn’t happen again—I assume there’s no reason for it to be there anymore? I have a client coming in at 11:00 for probably about 30 minutes, otherwise free up until 3:30 when I’ve got another appointment. Thank you. Jill Jill M. Sorry for some reason there are two recovery keys for sheri's computer. It's 50/50 to which one is correct: 353210-427867-215908-448272-006622-220913-298496-572451 227733-077341-668206-028424-661639-048829-179069-097163 Once you type the *correct key in, it will boot the rest of the way and I'll rotate the key remotely. All that happened was an update applied in a way that made unlocking the encrypted drive not possible. That's a big reason why there's recovery keys :D Cheers.Peet
