Subject: excel file that had a macro attached Description: Peet, We have an excel file that used to have a macro in it to run a function. We haven't used the file since we switched from Bubba. Today, when I went to use it, the macro is no longer visible and file also has a 1 after the name and shows it was saved today. Any way to find the macro that was in the old file?

There do not seem to be a macro in the file VM Template1.xlsx. I have the oldest version of the file and a version from 6/20/22. On that same day "VM Template.xltx" was deleted from "\CLIENT FILES\QUARTERLY CLIENTS\QTRLY REPORT TOOLS\Vang to Morningstar". I'm going to be the .xltx file is what you're looking for I've recovered it from a backup and put it in "\CLIENT FILES\QUARTERLY CLIENTS\QTRLY REPORT TOOLS\Vang to Morningstar". That said, there is a folder "\CLIENT FILES\QUARTERLY CLIENTS\QTRLY REPORT TOOLS\backup of Vang to Morningstar\Vang to Morningstar" that apparently contains the file you're looking for as well. Cheers.Peet

Peet, I looked at the backup file and that didn’t contain the macro either. In looking at the one you restored, the macro still is not showing up. I am not sure where or how to find it. When was the last time you used the file with the macro? Was it an xlsx or an xltx file that you used? Who originally published the macro? Perhaps it was not signed? Thanks.Peet

Peet— The macro was written by my brother in law, Todd Loran. He and Jeff’s sister own Watercolor Computer training here in town and both used to work for Microsoft. So, it was something that was written specifically for us. I don’t know the answers to your technical questions about the file extension or about it being “signed.” But does this help at all? I’m thinking the last time Sherie used the file was likely in May? Is that right, Sherie? Peet and Jill, I think the last time I used it was in mid-September.
