I'm just going got toss this into a fresh ticket. First, do you have a personal email I can associate with your home account for billing? Second, to note the work the work on the iMac seems to have resolved your iPhone connectivity and that the resulting upgrade to macOS 10.15 is the last upgrade Apple will be providing for that particular iMac. 10.15 is currently in the window of a supported operating system. When Apple releases macOS 14 in September/October of this year, they will no longer release any security updates or fixes for 10.15 or operating systems. This is the point where the hardware is considered obsolete and should likely be recycled. That said, this is a home computer so the risks of running an EOL OS vs the benefit of a new computer is calculus for your household. Did the printer issue resolve? As for the root issue of connecting the iPhone to the iMac for backups, I spent some time researching what you could do to backup Holly’s phone to iCloud and skip connecting the device to the computer. I first investigated an ethernet adapter for the phone and found this: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Lightning-Ethernet-Certified-Connector/dp/B08PFG6R9R and this: https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Ethernet-Lightning-Connector-Mfi-Certified/dp/B07BMVW62P/ and generic types like this: https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Adapter-Power-Charging-Phone/dp/B082PBZ6CF/ I can say for certain that the Anker (first link) works as expected as an ethernet adapter and pass through charger. What is significantly less clear is whether plugging it into ethernet overnight would allow for the iCloud backup to happen automatically. It seems like a no brainer that it should but the text on the iCloud backup setting states: “Automatically backup your apps and data to iCloud when this iPhone is connected to power, locked, and on Wi-Fi or cellular.” I will test it overnight to see if it works on Ethernet, but I’m not holding my breath. However, if you have an unlimited data plan on you the cell phone, you can backup overnight when the phone is plugged in, locked and connected to cellular data. I’d recommend creating the backup first over WiFi, but after that it shouldn’t be able to keep up a backup over your unlimited data plan. Thanks.Peet

Hi, Peet. Please use my Farran email for the personal invoice. I clicked on both the Anker and Belkin adapters and both are unavailable at this time. I'll look at iCloud and see if Holly my phones are backed up tonight. Still haven't tried the printer, will tonight, too. I'll be in touch. I would assume that Amazon currently has no stock. The Belkin adapter is available from other resellers. The Anker is exclusive to Amazon. I don't have any direct insight availability. Like I said, I'm unsure if iOS will automatically backup overnight if just connected to ethernet. The point is moot, however, if you have unlimited data plan(s) on your phone(s). I'm just doing my best to work out a solution for you to backup your phone(s) without the need for WiFi. Cheers.Peet

Would being connected to cellular work? Per the comment below with sufficient data? JPC From: Artichoke Support - Peet Sent: Friday, April 29, 2022 3:51 PM To: Pat Corrick Subject: Holly iMac and iPhone backups (message id: 54421327)

We each have an unlimited data plan and 2T of storage on iCloud. Should be good. Pat (406) 360-0742 Sent from my iPhone On Apr 30, 2022, at 4:30 PM, Artichoke Support - Peet wrote:
