Hi Peet, How are you? This may be small potatoes for you job wise but I am hoping I can hire you to outfit my new, used 2017 Macbook Air with security software. It would also be great if you could assess it for any updates or problems. If you have time, I'm happy to drop it off and I don't need it back anytime soon. I'm working at your old stomping grounds--the J-School. I'm the director of development, which I'm enjoying. I mostly work with Denise and Lee and think highly of them. Thanks and take care, Beth

Hey Beth, Good to hear from you. And ?congrats? on the new position. I'm going to assume the device is yours, not the universities, correct? If it's truly new-to-you, i.e. no data on it. The best thing to do is completely wipe it, install a new OS and go forward from there. Probably two hours of work or ~200. Though you hit it correctly when you said you could drop it off. It's the kind of thing I'd have to slot in between jobs. I'd just need it and the power adapter. Though this goes without saying, if it's University owned it's a big ol' nope. I can't and shouldn't work on it. Cheers.Peet
