[Image.jpeg]Hi Peet, The work laptop is having the same message re: quickbooks software update. It says I need to update, but don’t have permission. I know you said to right click and run as admin. I tried right clicking several places on the window, but nothing is happening. I attached a screenshot. Sorry to bug you again! Jaqui is out of town, and I need to be able to use the laptop. Sarah, The right-click and run as admin is working as expected (at least it seems to be to me). Here's a link to a screen capture of checking the function on the All-in-One computer. https://cln.sh/ok160eyF72BomQ99B0Ry ... In the clip QB2021 opens as an admin. I close the welcome box, select "Update Quickbooks Desktop" from the "Help" menu and then "Update Now" and "Start Updates". As you can see from the clip, there weren't any updates available for QB2021. It looks like you've already applied them. QB2021 downloads updates in the background, but cannot apply them if you don't run the application as an administrator. If you were able to start QB2021 as an admin after you were told that there were updates, QB2021 applies those updates when closing. The clip shows you the steps to check for and apply updates manually. You can do so at any time. Let me know how it goes with the laptop. Thanks.Peet

QB won’t let me open any files on the laptop. I see how to run as an admin now. But when I press enter to go past the log-in prompt, QB won’t let me without entering admin credentials. Not sure why the rule worked for the desktop, but not the laptop. I've updated the rule and it seems to work correctly for both installs.
