Thanks Peet. So I do have another question relating to the eero in St G. We will have guests staying there Sept 30- Oct 7 - so I’ll need to have them be able to use the internet. Mike and I won’t be going down until mid October. Since you are my favorite Eero account rep, I wouldn’t mind going over the guest passwords for internet use. It seems like that never works when guests put in the info I give them. Also has happened here in Missoula as well - so I obviously have something written down wrong. I have a password set of numbers but you told me never, ever to use that (give it to a guest).

Jan, Two things. 1. It looks like your internet is offline at the house in Missoula. Is that an expected outage? 2. You have two "Networks" in Eero. StGcastle and PiCastle. So make sure you're on StGcastle by doing the following (from https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/208227686-How-do-I-add-manage-multiple-eero-networks-under-my-account-) To switch between your eero networks: •Open the eero app and tap Settings in the bottom right corner •Tap Switch Networks at the bottom of the page •Tap the network you would like to switch to Then do the following to get your Guest Network password ... Open the eero application •Tap the Settings icon on the bottom right •From the menu, tap on Guest Access •Since your Guest network is already enabled, you can simply note the Network Name "StGcastle Guest" and the password that's been generated on the page. (If Guest was disabled, this is where you'd enable it) Cheers.Peet

Thank you Peet! Sorry I missed your call - was out golfing (badly) but it was fun anyway. I will practice with the eero app. The internet was out and not expected. I actually thought perhaps you were checking on something and it was out because of you. When I got home it was still out - it seemed the UPS had gone off somehow. Mike was printing something this morning when it all went down. The Mac, eero modem, etc. Seems to all be back up now but that was pretty weird. Perhaps a electrical issue of some sort. ? Don’t forget to send me a bill ;) Also, Im going to put a wireless printer in St G. (just a black ink one) Any brand you would recommend? Thanks again Peet. If you have a laser printer at home *do not* plug it into a battery-backed-up outlet on a UPS. There should be some plain surge-protected outlets. Laser printers have too much of a startup draw to be plugged into small UPS's. For a printer only I really do like this kit $230: https://www.brother-usa.com/products/hll2370dwxl. Basically it's a 100 printer with $130 worth of toner. Since toner keeps you can just tuck it away until you need it. I'm a big fan of the MFCL2750DW as well. The MFCL2750DW XL retails at $350: https://www.brother-usa.com/products/mfcl2750dwxl It's the same printer, but heck if I can find it anywhere. COVID supply shortages. It's the same actual printer as the hl-l2370dwxl but it's got a sweet little multifunction attached. If you can find a MFCL2750DW anywhere around $250 or a MFCL2750DW XL around $350 it's a great setup in the same footprint as the hll2370dw. That said, for straight printing the hll2370dw is perfect and the hll2370dwxl will have toner for years. Cheers.Peet

So this is weird, it happened again. I just printed something and the Mac, modem, eero and white boxy thingy, and the UPS shut down abruptly. The printer is not plugged into ups. It’s plugged into the wall directly and away from the other plug ins and ups. This has never happened until today. Your thoughts? It has to be electrical right? > On Sep 16, 2021, at 4:01 PM, Artichoke Support - Peet wrote: >

I'm not at all sure what you're seeing. But if you could send a couple pictures that show how everything is plugged in that would be helpful for sure. Is the electrical breaker tripping? How do you get the devices back on after they shut off? Peet

Breaker is not tripping and system doesn’t crash on every print request for example i printed out the eero account info you sent and it was fine. I printed out a football pool and a document from a SunRiver association both caused crashes. But again, this never happen before today. The printer plugs into wall and printer cable to back of Mac.
