Hey Peet –
I am still getting the attached message when I try to access our YouTube account using the email and password I’ve always used. Nicole mentioned the mepadmin issue had been resolved, but I’m still not able to access anything.
Thanks,
Chelsea

Hi Peet, I still don’t have access to the MEP YouTube account. I’m trying to login the way I have always accessed it and it’s telling me that my “sign-in settings don’t meet your organization’s 2-step verification policy. Contact your admin for more info.” I have always logged in with my own email address and password. Can you help me out? I have a video I’m hoping to upload in the next week or so. Chelsea, Sorry for the delay here. The MEP Google Workspace that is associated with missoulapartnership.com is completely inaccessible. I don’t believe I ever had access to administer the Workspace. The only mention of the Google tenant was in an unrelated 2023 ticket with Leidy. I’ve scoured all documentation and have found no record of who had control of the Workspace global admin. I spoke with Lindsey Wallace and Leidy, and even tried reaching out to James Grunke to reset a password. While Leidy was certain she had administrative rights, her account was definitely deleted and no longer exists in the Workspace. Keeza Leavens may have had control of the tenant at one point, but the credentials for [email protected] that were saved in her 1Password do not work. After exhausting every avenue I could imagine to regain control of MEP’s Google Workspace tenant, I was stumped. The only option I could find was to forcefully deregister the missoulapartnership.com domain through Google support. They completed the request today, and you can now create a new account with [email protected]. I’ve created a Google Workspace Essentials Starter for MEP and invited you to join it. The biggest benefit of creating your Google account via the Essentials Starter invite is that you can authenticate to the account through Microsoft 365 and use your existing [email protected] identity. I’ve initiated the process to stand up a new full Google Workspace, but that can take up to three days to get an answer on the type of account creation. In the meantime, Google Workspace Essentials Starter is the best bridge. I do apologize for the lack of communication on this ticket. Every time I sat down to get you an update, I realized I wasn’t going to be able to provide any resolution. Even though I never had Workspace access or responsibility, I wanted to provide a working solution for you. That’s absolutely not an excuse—just an explanation. That said, after you sign in to Google Workspace Essentials Starter with [email protected] via Microsoft 365, you’ll be all set. Cheers.Peet

Thank you, Peet, I appreciate it. I’m not quite sure how or why we lost track of the ownership of our google workspace. I should have paid closer attention to how it was changing hands between old and new office coordinators. That said, I appreciate you digging into it. I did follow the link to get signed up. My only concern is that it’s telling me our account is not eligible to access YouTube yet, which would be the primary reason to have a Google workspace (for me). I’m including a screenshot of the message. Obviously, one option is to wait the 30 days, but we had hoped to share out a video in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you have a suggestion or preference for how I deal with that. Because of course it couldn't be that easy. The free Google Workspace Essentials Starter has some limitations on what can be added on without causing the entire workspace to kick into a paid version. The one way we can meet the $30 requirement is to purchase a single license of Chrome Enterprise Upgrade ($50). MEP will never end up using Chrome Enterprise for anything, but it should meet that requirement. Would you like me to get that going for you? As an asside we'll have to resubmit the Google for Nonprofits (BREDD) request again, so that won't be a way out of the issue for now. Thanks.Peet

Haha, I said the same thing. Yes, if you could get that going, that would be great. Thanks, Peet.
